PUBLIC SAFETY

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing Mt. Oliver’s Property Maintenance Codes and Zoning Oridinance.

Building Inspection Underwriters (BIU), is the Borough’s appointed Building Code Official (BCO) and is responsible for all residential and commercial building permits.

Police

The Mt. Oliver Police Department is headed by Chief of Police Matt Juzwick.  It is made up of 11 full-time officers.

Fire

Fire service in Mt. Oliver Borough is provided by the Mt. Oliver Volunteer Fire Company (Station 199). The company was founded in 1869 as “Mt. Oliver Hook and Ladder Company” and will soon be celebrating its 150th Anniversary. Station 199 is headed by Fire Chief Ron Lowrey and is supported by more than 35 active volunteers.
